The little fat rubber is worst, the long skinny rubber is middle, the metal is best.
However, the high pressure stems that were put on my trailer tires, and now my truck tires, are half rubber and half metal. They are rated to 120 PSI. I am not even going down the road of posting pics. I am luccky to be able to post this simple message! But they are definatly a much stronger valve stem!
Geez, I did not realize that dealers, AND tire stores will rip people off with a simple unexpensive thing like valve stems.
But, they do it at the saftey of their customers. Sad, pretty darn sad!
Ah metal valve stems, there we go, thanks. Looks like I am going to be taking off tires this week.
Thanks, guys
You dont need to break down tires any more to install stems, this tool is kind of expensive to use just a couple of times. But it works pretty good, my boss has one.

Yeah my boss bought it because, because we replace the stems in a bunch of trailers at work before they rot out. And this tool saves tons of time, if we had to break down every tire to put a stem in, it would take forever.
