Not only does the SCT improve that greatly but it will run rings around a six gun.
felt the same way when I switched from my edge juice to my xcal2 with innovative tunes. Everyone runs and brags about sct for a reason. It would be debateable if there were as many people praising edge, bullydog, banks as there are praising the xcal2. The forums converted me.

I have a new SCT sitting beside me right now, just came in the mail today. I'm waiting on Matt to e-mail me my economy tunes. I have a Bully Dog for sale. I got no mileage increases, but I did get horrible shifting patterns, over-revving, and various other problems. I can't back up any claims about the SCT yet, but the responses by the fine members of FTE speak volumes to me....

I've got a triple dog for my 03 F250, It works great, but I don't go into the higher settings, IE: Extreme, usually I stay at the Tow/Economy setting.
My biggest complaint is the lack of the speedo adjustment for my f 250 but I guess that could be because it is an F 250 not a Chev or Dodge. But it would be nice to be able to adjust the speedo since I'm running at about 5 KMH under what the speedo says I am due to the new tires on it.
You are correct though about the 6.0 L having some design problems, One is from what I hear the Head bolts are too small in diameter on the earlier models like mine, but they have aparently fix it on the 05s and newer.

If you are looking for an SCT shoot us a pm and I can give you more details and answer any questions you may have. The best part about the SCT is if it seems to have a quark you dont like we can custom tune to work on your exact truck with your driving style. You never have to settle for "out of the box" and if your needs change your tunes can too.

I have the Bully-Dog Tripple Dog and I HATE it. The trans shifts like crap even after a relearn, it miss shifts offen, and the bost is eratic. When I put the truck back to stock ALL the problems are GONE ! Go with the SCT.

I didn't have trouble with erratic boost but I hated the shifting. I never ran on anything but tow/economy for any amount of time, and I never ran on extreme. I just got an SCT X3, running Matt's stock plus tune. I like it so far. Now that the tranny relearned it seems great. I'll be posting mileage now as soon as I fill up. It seems to be a little better. After I get some numbers on this tune I'm going to the UE/H to see what I can get out of it.
