bent push rod??
is there anyway to tell by sound if a push rod is bent? i have a knock when cold that lightens up to a faint tick when warm. it's on #5 cylinder. thought it might be a sticking valve but i've poured a little tranny fluid through the carb ( always been told this would free a sticking valve) but still have the tick. it does have a slightly rough idel but smooths out above 1000 rpm. any ideals? this is on a 360

bent push rod??
Just pull your valve cover off really quick and take a peak. You'll know if it's bent or not right away. I had two bend on my 352 from backfiring. I had the timing 180 off, and the pushrods didn't agree with that too much. Good Luck
