How Accurate is DeskTop Dyno?

I'm curious about my 410 and what its torque and HP curves look like?!? In particular, I'm wondering how much using a Performer intake on Performer RPM heads might be holding me back. The ports are definitely a mismatch, but is that a real issue in a hi-boy that will rarely see more than 5K, 5500 max? Would the DeskTop Dyno provide an accurate depiction of this kind of stuff? I hate to waste the $$ on something that won't exactly get used on a daily basis since the die is already cast on most parts.
Thanks. Steve

From other peoples info it has shown to be very close either way. I wouldn't call it optimistic or pessimistic. I have all of the flow numbers for the edel heads and I will post you a graph tomorrow. I am going to bed now. I can't distinguish between the RPM and regular performer but there will be a difference. The ports mismatch but ports being smaller on the intake is much better than smaller on the head.

Thanks Rat!
I don't know what numbers are needed for input for the program, but here is what I've got in case you need them: 410 bored to .040 over, calculated CR 9.9:1, cam is Edelbrock 343941 with matching springs, Sanderson Shorty headers, heads are Edelbrock 6007 427 76CC, carb is Holley 600 cfm on Edelbrock FE 390 manifold.
Thanks again, Steve

How Accurate is DeskTop Dyno?

Thanks a bunch Rat!!
I take it that there isn't any way to input the two different intakes to see how they would differ? That's a bit of what I was curious about on the software, just how much flexibility it has?!?
Anyway, this will help me with my shift points for sure! I'm headed in with a GearVendors OD unit, and was wondering what RPM range to shoot for. But with that flat torque curve, guess I can't go too far wrong as long as I keep it somewhere on the top side of 2500 or so.
Again, I really appreciate the help!
Steve
