I need some help. 1 person said its ball joints, 1 said the trans in loose. I jacked up the front and ruled out the ball joints. I never hear of a trans coming loose. What else is under there that can make a clicking sound? Is it the CV joint?
Can the transfer case come loose. This is a F150 4x4 Larriat 2001 with 87K.
I am frustrated by the prognosis that these repairs shop give. The repair price is even more scary. I appreciate any help.

Reason: spell check
you cant guess what it is. you can come up with 5-6 different ideas, but to check it out, you need to have the front tires 1-2 inches off teh ground setting on jack stands under the A- frames. then you can check the ball joints, the tir rods, the idler arm attachment, the upper ball joints, etc for wear. only way to check the trans mounts is to go look. that is not a common problem. you could have dry drive shaft universals. narrow down when it happes-- constant speed down the road--- only when hitting a bump-- starts as soon as you start moving and gets loudr as you speed up??
