The pages probably uses controls that it won't send if the browser isn't IE. In Opera: while browsing the site, right-click on any empty (white-space) part of the web page (or hit F12). Select "Site-Preferences", Network tab, then set browser identification to mask as Internet Explorer.
I use that feature on FTE in our admin panel. If the panel detects a non-IE browser it gives a plain-jain stripped down version... but when I tell Opera to pretend to be IE it works fine.
Does Opera have its own Email Client built in? if so, how does it stack up to thunderbird?
IMO TB blows OE out of the water
Opera can work with any external email client including Thunderbird. When you set up Thunderbird you should have it set as the default client. Opera will launch the default client when you click email addresses.
Opera also has an email client. Tools -> Mail and Chat accounts
Personally, I use Eudora. It's been around for 12+ years. Now its open source and its being made to work with Firefox by the Mozilla project. Once its out of beta I foresee many Thunderbird users switching to it.
Roboform isn't compatible with Opera. Opera does has the "Wand" which manages passwords and also has the ability to insert items into forms (right click on the form and click Insert Personal or Insert Note).
One question I have regarding Opera... and I am not 100% certain how to fix it. (Ken might be able to assist???)
I have my "user cp" set as one of my home pages, and whenever I visit for the first time, my subscribed threads appear that have new posts.
Now, if I open a new window (or even refresh the current user cp page) - it "marks all forums read" automatically. And it does not mark new threads in bold font.
