does anyone notice there brake pedal being spongy? My '05 scab is horrible, at idle, in park, i can press the pedal within 2-3 in. of the floor. Theres been a few times when i really didnt know if i was going to get stopped in time, in an almost emergency type situation. There should not be any air in the system. And theres no pulling to one side.,,,or any dash ABS lites on. I sure wish it was like my wives 2000 grand marquis,,,very little "softness", it will stop on a dime. I know the truck is heavier, but still the pedal should NOT be that soft. Any comments?? thanks paul
its a '05 scab w/4.6 and 14k miles. fluid level o.k. been like this since new., well maybe seems like its getting worse. do you think it could have some air in the lines from the factory??? wouldnt that cause the differential valve to throw a light? soxfan...were yours spongy before you bleed them? i might try the rear first,, cause if the front had air , it should pull a little to one side when braking. thanks...paul

My brakes weren't spongy the pedal had more travel than it does now. I like the feel of the brakes now compared to when I bought the truck. I have read posts of people have spongy brakes from the factory and they bleed the brakes and it fixed the problem.
