Updates

Ok so were to begin.

I guess the beginning would be a good place. Approximatley in 2005 a few of us decided to create our Alaska Chapter. At that time I was elected Assistant Chapter Leader. We started to gather information on members, worked on our Chapter By-Law and a web page was created. We did have a get together dinner about 3-4 months into the project. Myself, Greythorn, AKBronco and others were there. Well almost one year into this the Chapter Leader had to resign his position due to a family issue. By default I became the CL. I did have a few dinners with some of you over that period but usually it would only be 2 or 3 of us. I also tried to have 2 get-togethers, Denali and Fairbanks, but in both cases I had no-shows for both. This would be the 2005-2006ish time. In 2006-2007 I took on a second full-time job and my free time went away. Yes excuses are excuses but I really did not have much time for the Chapter this past year... The old feast or famine. Well it looks like I might be on teh famine side, somewhat, this winter.

So what I am going to do is get together my roster and post it here. Beside each name I will state that I either have an email, other than FTE, or not and go from there. After I work out this rooster I will work on next posting the By-Laws of the Chapter that were created. This way we can either accept, make changes or forgoe and create something new.

After this is done I would like to try some sort of a get-together dinner or something. Yea I know winter is coming. Not sure how many of you are snowmachiners but I love it so I do offer a spare bed if anyone would like to come here to ride. On this line maybe we need to create some special intrest groups, ie, 4x4, ATV, Snowmaching, Make fun of WilliesSD250, skiing groups.

I also need people to step up to the plate an become regional helpers. Heck I dont care what you call yourself, I just need the help. Our state is too big for one person.

So that is a start. I have State Wide Fire Conference all this month so it will be Oct before I can devote time to this. I will try to do a little each night at work but bear with me.

So with that all said give me some input and suggestion.

Mike B

Hey!
If there is a time you could send out an email to each member to announce an on-line chat meeting, maybe we could get some interest up.
Whatcha think?

Sounds good. If the meeting is planned around your schedule, maybe it won't be as difficult. The hard part is getting the time and getting all those emails sent. I have been out of this for so long, I only have the old information from when this all started. Let me know. I will show up.

I could'nt get my lap top to work on the live chat either. I had a busy summer and the company I work for just sold to another company, so I don't know what my schedule is giong to be next month. I'd be up for a snowmachine trip if I could work it out.

Mike. I'm going to be in VA for turkey day. Going to kill my limit on bambi's while there too. I'd be interested in the snow machine, but I'm still paying of the car hauler and the boat. I also picked up a '87 Jimmy 4x4 a few weeks ago. Runs great, looks good and was only $1200.00 I needed a personal rig over here at work so it'll suit me just fine. I'll either put it on a barge or wait till later this winter once the ice road goes in and then I'll just drive it over (fgrom KGB road to A-pad is only 35 miles) but snow machine would be lots more fun!!!

Ah I miss that part of the country. Maybe in 4-5 years will make it down there. Have a good turkey day.

PS What are you doing on Halloween? We are having our annual costume party. This years theme is "Animal House - Toga Party". Oh yea it should be fun. NOW I need to find someone heading here from Anchorage to save me a trip of getting a keg form Mooses Tooth...

If you get a free weekend and would like to get away from the Valley just stop on by...

Later Chris and have a good vacation.
