Question about recalls?

We have a 93 AWD XLT Aerostar.
I noticed in other posts here mention of a recall on the AWDs for a transfer case problem. We are the 3rd owner, got the van in 2002. I assume the recall was before that year, although I don't know how we would know about it, not being the original owner. Is there some way to tell if our van had the repair covered by this recall? The guy we got it from was very upfront about any work done on it, but he never mentioned something like this. If it was never done, would Ford do a recall repair on a vehicle this old?

I can't recall FoMoCo's actual recall # but it was an "S" or safety recall. I think this is the addy on line.

If I'm wrong on the addy just drive into a FoMoCo dealership & explain to a service advisor you want your VIN run through OASIS & checked for safety recalls to see if it is up to date. The dealer will tell you either it has been done, or it needs to be done.

The recall you are referring to is a safety recall and never expires as per DOT & NTSB reg's. . . . I believe there is also an ignition switch safety recall still open also for your year & model Aero.

My 1990 4wd still has a steel drive shaft in the rear. Maybe I should check with my local dealer about the recall, or any recalls.
