Hello, I have been watching the forum for a few weeks now and have come to the conclusion that if you cant find the answer here it ain't broke.
With that being said, I am having the time of my life with my front bearing assemblies. I have a 2000 X 4x4 V10 135,000 miles and in the past year 25,000 miles have had to replace each front side of my bearing twice. I am getting the grinding sound, where it comes and goes with a bump in the road and then hit another bump and it goes away. Once this starts I have replaced the bearing assembly. Luckily after buying two they are under warranty and it has not hit the pocket book as bad. The tires wear fine, and the truck tracks, and brakes great. I was hoping someone has a fix for me? It is getting old tearing down the front to replace these bearing every 6-8 months. The needle bearing always look ok, it is the assembly itself that appears to be failing.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have no plans on getting rid of her any time soon, I just put a new engine in her from Ford this past winter. (I had a rod bearing go out.) Apparently whoever had it before me did not take good care of it.
Thanks
Brian
