Im positive that there is at least a programmed limit in the computer...but....disabling any form of govener can be dangerous....and really shouldnt be done in my opinion...not to mention in some states its illegal to do so...I'm not saying that it is for you...but tread lightly.
IMO if you're looking for more power etc... look into a power programmer of some kind...thats your safest and best bet. It will alter shift points etc and will still keep it goverened safely.

In the PCM program.
A tuner with these control features will raise it.
5500 rpm is the usual prudent limit on the motor because the convertor is not built internally to take much more for centrifigal force for truck use not race use..
The MPH is pretty much open to the tire speed limit before they could come apart as well as the crazyness of running a 6000 lb truck at those speeds.
Roll it in CA and come to rest in PA.
About 105 on the speed limiter and about 5250 on the rpm limiter. You wont make any more power above 4800rpm anyway so raising that is pointless and driving a large truck over 105 on the highway is kinda crazy don't ya think??
Agreed. My truck currently (no mods, no programmer) will stall at 96mph, and IIRC, I've never had to push the engine over 4500RPM's to get the power I needed for any specific task, so I dunno where the rev limiter is at. Most of the time, my truck runs between idle --> 2500RPM's.
