Point me please!
I have read post after post on the Ranger/S10 frame builds. I would like to keep my 351w in the truck but it is not a big deal if I use another engine.
Gas prices are keeping me from going to big events and I am also worried about the integrity of the diced-up frame I have now, LTD spliced into a 52 Merc frame. I also have coils in the rear and it rides and handles poorly.
The engine is too far forward and remounting it would be easy compared to using another frame. I have heard of people using Nissans and Toyotas but I thought those were on A's and T's. My options are open and I just wanted to ask you guys because you know best.
Thanks, Eric

Completed:

Here's a picture of my old truck, sits on original frame except for the LTD front clip, rear lowered by raising spring perches.

And this one rides like a dream. The clip was grafted to the frame such that you can not see where it was done, and have had no issues since it was built. I'd say unless someone butchered your LTD clip install, you should have no problems with it. If your frame is still sound, I'd look at fixing the spring situation in the back, and keeping your frame. I'd hate to see you install a modern frame and go through all that work just to still have a poor ride because it was not designed for your truck. There will be a lot of work either way, but I think you have a good starting point with what you have.
