hesitation on freeway

hesitation on freeway
hi i own a 2000 ford explorer sport, whem driving freeway speeds ther is a hesitation when driving at freeway speeds. you push on the gas and theres nothing then all of a sudden it kicks in and runs ok. this has happen twice the first time check engine light flashed on and then off that time it went for emissions and passed. yesterday same thing but no check engine light, when i started it this morning the damn check engine light came on. any ideas as to what this could be?

Bad TPS, plugged fuel filter, plugged air filter, dirty or contaminated MAF sensor. If the light came on, even briefly, there should be a code stored in the computer. This code should tell you exactly what happened. Trying to diagnose the problem without that code is like trying to stick your hand inside a box full of snakes and trying to guess which one is biting you. You have to look.

took truck in was error p0303 cylnder 3 misfire. they checked and said plug wire gave me truck back next morning same exact error code. mechanic said it was a fluke cause it was open shut case when they found spark plug wire arking out, but driving truck it was idling very rough, and now thinks its a fuel injector.
obviousy this ^&% check plugs and wires and figured it would take care of problem after clearing codes never checked coil,oxgen sensor, fuel injector, exhaust valve or anything else. this guy never apologized, just stated it was strange and could not understand why i was irrate and pissed of after paying $400.00 to fix the problem correctly!
