Today i was driving and i went to make a left turn, and my car wouldnt turn, it almost felt like my power steering went out, as i fought to turn the wheel it finally broke loose and made kinda a pop noise and turned. After that my alignment was extremly off and the front passenger wheel began to wobble and it got worse as i drove it. I just want to get some ideas of what it could possible be. I have a 94 4x4 turbo diesel. any help is appreciated.
Woah, that doesn't sound good. You need to put the front end up on blocks and track down the failed part (if possible). Work everything back and forth working your way in from the wheels toward the steering box.
If it had trouble tracking, my guess would be the main ball joint that holds the spindle, or the tie rod ends, but I would give the whole fron end a good look for sure.
The original binding may have been a frozen U joint in the front axle.
But the pop noise...well that could have been a tie rod, tie rod end or ball joint.
All of those can be very serious problems if they break while driving, like turn the wheel and nothing happens serious.
This is one of those things that need to be looked at NOW.
You can have someone turn the wheel back and forth while you look at the steering linkage under the front.
All the parts should move together with no play between the parts.
If you don't know what you are looking for, or don't see anything obviously wrong, you should get a front end inspection at an alignment shop immediately.
There is no worse feeling in the world than turning the steering wheel and making no change in where your 7000+ pound truck goes.
