my truck rules but its worth at least 1500 more than I have into it.
I listed it for 2000 as a feeler and had a lot of responses. Should I sell it and get an extra cab which I really want...but my truck is an 86 HD 250 4x4 GVW 8501-9000 lbs. 351 runs clean and strong. Should I seize the day and grab my +1500 and reinvest in a different ford or should I be glad my horse is strong and ride it into the ground?
I just went through the same dilemma I sold an 86 150 with a 351 to pick up a 91 250 with a 351 and thus far I have $2000 in to the motor (full rebuild with some upgrades) $200 in repair to the hubs and I still have to replace all the u-joints as of right now I found 3 bad so to heck with it I will just replace all of them. But hell I will have me a 300,000 mile truck when I am done and it will be my way lol.
I'm selling my '89 F-250 in favor of something a little smaller and more fuel efficient... I'm keeping my '85 F-150 though. I say if you can get what you want out of it, to buy what you really want, do it. Just make sure what you buy is what you really want...
I'm in the same boat as you.I thought about selling my 86 f150,f250,and my 90 bronco to get a extended cab or crew. But i think I'll keep what I've got be cause I really enjoy them all for different reasons.
there's a lot to be said for keeping old trucks. i reget letting some of my trucks go. if i still had every truck i ever owned i wouldn't need an i.r.a. . now days i'm keeping what i have (they do increase in value) and buy what i can, where i can. i have two daily drivers, but the third in storage is a '71 1 ton crewcab shortbed. i would love to bring it out and build it but don't feel i have the money. it's a real temptation to sell something, i know the feeling.
