Did you all see the article in Hot Rod magazine for the 1300 HP blown, fuel injected all aluminum 500+ CI FE block that Shelby is going to put in a Cobra? It has almost nothing in common with our engines, but it's still a nice thought. I was amused when they said that the FE blocks were getting hard to find :-) I guess they were talking about original 427 blocks.

They were definitly talking about the 427. I can go to the junk yard and get a 360 or 390 for about $100 bucks each. The only thing good in the is the block itsefl usually. But you are right it would be real cool to have a 1300hp big block Ford under the hood. HEHEHEHEHEHE
