Steering Column replacement

I need to replace the steering column in my 87 F150 (tilt). I have a complete replacement column from a donor truck. I would appreciate any info on how to do this and if their are anything special I need to watch out for. I have the Hayes Manual but no luck finding anything about steering column replacement. Thanks for any and advice/info.

take panel under column off remove cable for shift indicator /trans ( if have one ) Unplug all you can. Remove 2 nuts (look for anything else first ) holding it to mount . It should drop down to seat .
Loosen shaft under hood and unbolt at fire wall . If every thing is loose pull it out .

I may have miss things (I work on newer 92 up now ) But its basically check 3 times and disconnect once. good luck

I'm in the midst of doing this right now and I have ran into an issue (this truck can't just be EASY!) I've disconnected everything and I'm unbolting the column from the firewall and as ridiculous as this sounds, every one of the bolts are stuck. Stuck meaning they will spin, but won't back out. I've been playing with this for about 2 hours now and have ran out of ideas. This is just ridiculous. Any have some thoughts on this? Any tips or tricks?

Steering Column replacement

Thanks for the advise, turned out to be the easiest job I've done and fast to, I really can't believe how easy it was. Thanks again now to rebuild the old one ($525.00 for a rebuilt one) this may be a real undertaking.
