I have an 04 6.0L with 98,000 on it, about a month ago I notice some oil residue between the block and transmission. Cleaned it with brake part cleaner and it took about 6-8 days for it to come back. My brother thinks it could be the rear main seal? Have you guys had any problems or seen similar symptoms? Thanks.
Several different things could be leaking, including the CAC tubes. Generally all oil leaks end up running onto the rear of the motor, bell housing and transmission.
The only accurate way to determine what is leaking oil is to have dye placed in the oil driving it and then having the 6.0 tech track the leak with a black light.
Make sure you get it checked by a dealer before the 100k mile mark. Even if they do not find anything, keep a written record and some type of reciept from the dealer with date and mileage on the record. This way when you cross 100k and the problem is not resolved, you have a good chance of warranty coverage.
is it a early 60 or late build? you can tell by seeing if you have a icp sensor on your right valve cover. icp sensors are notorious for leaking on these.
I dropped it off at the dealership Friday so we'll see what happens. It's an early 6.0 with the 03 build date. Just wanted to resolve the leak before I put the tuner on it.

Let me know how it turned out. I have a similar problem.
