As the title says, have an '05 6.0L with 49K miles. It has had the P. side bank of injectors replaced and the turbo at around 10K miles. I noticed about 5K miles ago that the degas bottle was a tad low, yes it has the new fill sticker. I added probably half a qt. and it was around the full mark. The bottle was rather brown and gummy at that time and had been for a while. I checked it again yesterday after about a 3K mile road trip and it was around half a gallon low. I don't see any smoke or smell any coolant but this stuff has got to be going somewhere. Any ideas? I like to have an idea of what the problem is before I take it to the dealer, even in warranty situations.
I've got the same exact same problem with my 05 6.0L. Ford will check the cap on the expansion tank, claim its low, replace it. You'll have the same problem - again - they'll replace the EGR cooler. You'll lose still yet more coolant and then they'll finally give in and replace the head gaskets.
