I have a 02 7.3 super Duty. Sonce i bought it i have had an airbag code. 2-7 i think 4 or 5 times on stratup and then the airbag light stays illuminated. I know in the past I have had airbag light problems that were clock spring related. Is it worth it to replace clock spring, or does this code tell me anything I can use.
does your airbag light off light come on on start up. I am refering to the manual off override light for the passenger, it comes on during during the start up cycle, and if the bulb is burned out it will set a code. i think it is the 27 code, or 2-7.
It is not coming on. It is smaller than 7mm to pull that airbag override off the back of the dash insert, and i don't have tonight. I will check the bulb tomorrow or sat. thank you very much. I thought i had an airbag issue since i bought this truck 9 months ago.
Thanks so much. That pass side light was the cause. That light is soldered to a circuit board for this component. It is really easy to repair. Just pull out dash so you can get behind on pass side. Pull the three screws that hold the component to the dash, and unplug. I took a small flat head screwdriver to pop the top off the component and the board comes out. I bought a 12V dc light at Radio Shack for $1.29, soldered it to the legs of the light that was burnt out (I did not even remove old lamp), put the amber rubber cover from the old lamp onto the new one, and re-installed. No more annoying airbag light.
Again, Thanks for the information, I was sure i had a bad clock-spring or bag terminal.
