It's only Rock and Roll.

I listen to the purr and the distinctive sound of my Y-Block. I ain't got no radio or no stinkin' tape player. Just got a bone stock farmer truck like it came from the factory, no frills, not even a passenger side sunvisor.
When I got the truck in '77 as a kid in college I tried to put an 8-track player in or put somekind of am/fm receiver under the dash, but since it was a 6 volt positive ground it was tough. The 6-volt porblem could be overcome I learned but hooking up a negative ground radio to a positive ground truck was harder to overcome, so thankfully I gave up and didn;t cut holes in the dash or butcher something up, so I was resigned to singing my favorite Billy Joel, Boz Scaggs and Springsteen in my head as my snowtires (or mudgrippers, as my grandfather called them) kept the rythym. The sumer I got the truck my girlfriend and I drove from her place near Philly to Wildwood and she had a battery operated 8-track player, Wow! what a good time!
Today I appreciate the time in my truck with out electronic noise as a time to think, dream and remininse. And once in a while I belt out a few lines of the Lido Shuffle or the Piano Man.

I know all of you young guys heard of Joel and Springsteen but do you know about Boz Scaggs?

So different from the days of 8 track tapes. Downloading MP3 from the Internet and burning a CD for a cruise. I find myself listening to some of the rebels or some you had a major influence on rock, Stones, Eric, Beatles, Neal Young and others. One time wonders where someothers that can be found like, Five man electical band (signs), can name others?
