On my 95.....I took the piece of the intake that goes between the wye and the airbox...since it's got ribs on the inside (slows the air velocity) and replaced it with a piece of 3 inch PVC painted black...to couple it in the factory position.....I used two 3 inch Fernco bands......tightened the crap out of em onto everything. Then I took it for a ride...boy was my Throttle response greatly improved...my exhaust sounds deeper too.Oh yea, I took a Dremel to one end of the pipe (the end feeding from the aribox) and beveled the Inside Diameter to let the air flow more freely.Cheap and great mod.....I don't know how much it was total (I got the materials from work) but I know it's cheap.
I need to see your Plumbing License, Boy! I take it your a plumber well I got this toilet and.. I been a plumber way too long since 1974. I try to keep the plumbing stuff away from my good truck. I'm glad to see it worked out well for you. Them Fernco bands are a might expensive, I sure your boss appreciates you being so handy with them.
heh heh.....end of job closeout lol.74 huh?bout like my bosses then lol.....good to see a fellow tradesman appreciates good trucks as well as a good job...never thought I'd be one though....
If its like my airbox its bolted to the body, the engine moves but the airbox doesn't, so if I did that I'd need to find a way to allow for that flex which you've now lost.
Maybe use rubber mounts under the breadbox?
I was planning to go with polished stainless for mine as well as making a polished stainless airbox and use rubber coupling hoses to connect it all. I just need to be able to park my truck for a few days to get this done.
Hey quick, I think I'd like to see a vid of your mod in action if you try that.
