So, if I were to try something new like say...I don't know...a rebuild or hell even a 331 kit with flat top pistons a little bit milder cam.....it wouldn't change a damn thing?Geesh....guess Mr M wasted the money on his truck...Skandocious too....
What'd I was my money on? If you're talking about the K&N FIPK, the previous owner put it on. If it were me, I would have just used a drop-in filter (maybe K&N) and used the cold air duct from a 300/460. Too late now I suppose...
Like your truck and engine frankenford! I'm a HVAC mech and have also thought of dressing up the engine with either metal flex or chrome tubes. I used some scrap stainless schedule 40 3" for my exhaust once and have used the metal flex duct for homemade cold air induction on other trucks.

why is it so hard to believe to some peaple ? its just a simple PVC pipe just wider and smoother on the inside.... not a big mod but its a 1 to 5 Hp improvement ( hey! every little things help )... i wanna do this to my dual intake tubes to ... did you guys ever looked inside of them? the spiral spring and the tubs are 2.5 inch. i wanna run dual 3" But thats just me.. its my taste so if he wanna put PVC on his exhuast well let him its his truck and his taste.. every one has his own taste..
I did something similar to this but with my 94 Ranger and a 3" exhaust pipe. The factory intake tube had cracked and I didn't want to pay $$ at the dealership for a new one. Being where I work at also does exhaust work, I had our welding expert/metal fabricator help me come up with this for $20.
Thank you. And for those wondering if the intake temperature is now higher, it is by only 10F (Checked with a scanner before/after the swap). I have plans in the future to wrap the entire pipe with thermal tape to lower the temps.
Thats what I was wondering, but figured you hadnt done any measuring, guess I was wrong again. Just need to set up a nice mild shot of nitrous and methanol/water and have fun with it
