I have had a on/off type nitrous system, albeit on a modified 5.0L, but I would think it should ring true. The progressive should be a bit easier on the drivetrain, hence the "progressive" type activation. If nothing else it may help from blowing the tires off as it would gradually apply the power.
I have punched off from an 80mph roll, when my 5.0L was stock w/bottle and I got sideways;-)
The quick application of torque can be a problem......but a good one!!
