oil light

i have a 1975 f-100 with a 352. when idleing in drive the oil light comes on. if i am idleing in park the light dosen't come on. what is going on. i know i need to get the carb ajusted. could it be that it is just idleing too low?

oil light

Its got to be idling awful low to get an oil light with a good oil pump. Might try another sending unit and if that doesn't work a real guage to see what your pressure actually is.

I know that this has nothing to do with your origanl question but a 352 in a 75 truck is, I think, a real oddity. What makes you think it is a 352?? Below the oil filter area there are some casting #'s get those and we can let you know what you might acctually have.

As for the oil light. I have to agree with Rat get a gauge that tells you what you are really running. Sounds like the idle is too low. Just my opinion.

oil light

yes it is a 352, i took it out of a 1965 galaxy that the guy living next door to me was taking to the junk yard. the orignal 351 that was in it blew up so i needed a motor and this was a good replacement(as long as i can get this oil problem fixed)
