Automatic Trans Service

I have 1 1999 F250 2WD diesel with automatic transmission and 60,000 miles. I have been told mine rattles quite loud. I have owned this truck since it has had 21,000 miles and it seems to me that it rattles just the way it has since I first got it. I have had the trans flushed with new fluid before. So, I took it to a Trans shop the other day for his opinion on the rattle. He said is pretty much sounds like most 7.3 diesels he has heard. He listened to the Trans with a stethoscope and did not hear anything was going on but suggested a Trans service with a filter change since he does not like the flush method which does not change the filter. I mentioned some of the things I have read on this forum about torque converter rattles and cracked flex plates. He said with the 100's of Trans he has done he has never come across a cracked flex plate. He also called his converter distributor while I was waiting who also was not aware of converter problems with the 1999 f250?

Does this guy sound like he knows what he is talking about? What should I expect to pay for a Trans service with a filter change. He will also check and make sure the converter bolts are tight.

They must be the only two people left that haven't heard about the ratteling problems with the '99 diesel torque converters.
