Hey no problem! There are a few guys around here who have the experience to help, but vehicles are so particular I thought you might want to ask the experts.

Also, I know ZERO (0) about Ford gassers, but if it has a CAM sensor, I know the cam sensors on our diesels can cause all sorts of havoc when they go bad.

It's called a "hall effect" sensor and used for much more than a cam sensor. Just about every electronically controlled engine has one in some form, gas or diesel.
The vehicle speed sensor, the ABS sensor, all are hall effect.
