For a 2wd truck, I think I would go more for the hotrod look than the 4wd off road look. I would check into upsizing to something like a 245/70-15 or a 255/60/-15. Keeping the same height, but going wider with a wider wheel.

You could do that too, and it looks pretty good. What people used to do is get about a 8 inch wide wheel for the rear, but it had a negative offset. They call it "backspace" now, and the wheel had very little backspace, so it set the wheel out, and run a 60 or 50 series tire on the rear. Then you run a normal backspace 6 inch wheel up front, with a 70 series tire up front.

Hey, I'm one of those "what people used to do". I had a '71 Ford LWB with 10" on the back and 7" on the front. I'd like to have that old truck back.

I'd look for 16 or 17" rims, maybe even 18s. Then use a lower profile tire like a 50 or 60, but not some huge Indy looking tire. Whatever comes stock on a new F150 for example. As for the old style look, yea, I remember that. But I'm more into tucked in with a reasonable ride height and not hitting fenders these days.

I put 31 10.50s on my e150...they are better than the old hard stockers, but next time, if there is a next time, I'll probably go to something smaller.
