Re-conditioning Steering Wheel kits
What is the general concensus on the steering wheel repair kits from Eastwood or others. I understand it is a considerable amount of work, but worth it based on cost of replacement NOS.

Depends how bad your wheel is. Mine is cracked avery 2 - 3" on the rim, and several places on each spoke. I added up the volume of the cracks after gouging and concluded that aside the hundreds of hours it would take to repair, it would take over a $100 worth of epoxy fillers. I'll just live with the cracks, and maybe buy a leather wrap. If it bothers me I'll spring for the $160 brand new wheel.

I repaired mine but it wasn't in too bad of shape. Instead of buying the eastwood kit I just bought the PC-7 Epoxy paste at a local hardware store and used krylon plasticote paint. turned out great.
