I had the same problem when I bought my 04 used. The ownwers manual tells how to reprogram it, but you need to have the factory code. There should be a card in with the manual that has a five digit master code on it. The previous owner of my truck did something with the card so I had to go hunting for the code. After much searching all over the internet and my local Ford dealer (no help) I found it on a sticker on control module that lives on the firewall behind my radio. It was a real bear to get to. I had to pull out the radio and look thru the hole, up high behind some insulation. I was also told that the Ford place can pull it electronically from the PCM. I hope you find the card. By the way, mine is an 04 so it may be different. Good luck

Taken from the '06 F-series manual:

To create your own personal entry code:
1. Enter the factory set code.

2. Within five seconds press the 1
2 on the keypad.

3. Enter your personal 5-digit code. Each number must be entered

within five seconds of each other.

4. The doors will again lock then unlock to confirm that your personal

keycode has been programmed to the module.

Tips:

Do not set a code that uses five of the same number.

Do not use five numbers in sequential order.

The factory set code will work even if you have set your own personal

code.

If you set a second personal code it will erase your first personal code.

Good luck,
Bill

As for the jack, if you haven't figured it out yet your spare tire winch requires a special key on the end of your jack handle to lower the tire. Without it, you're really screwed if you have a flat. You'll need to visit the dealer to get that figured out, so price a jack handle assembly while you're there.

Lot's of past threads on figuring out the winch lock, so suggest a search.

Here's just one:

As far as your owner's guides go, here is a link to download them and print them out if you want.

Click on Owner's Guides on the left and enter your vehicle information.

My dealer charged me $88 to retrieve the code from the computer. There are lot's of past threads here on this site about it being printed on a module under your dash, so if you are young and nimble and can sit on your head, you might be able to read it and save some cash.

One thing to note, all of the replies up to now have assumed you have the factory original hard wired key pad. Ford also offered a retro-fit pad which is just stuck on with double sided tape and was battery operated. Just a glorified key fob really. If you have that type there won't be any code to be found. So far I have not seen any way to get a code out of that type.

Good luck, and don't forget to check your spare tire winch. That's a lot more important than your key pad.
