Why do Cummins guys talk so much crap on the Powerstroke?
I was posting on a Cummins forum and mentioned that I was also looking at some Fords and immediately got several comments about it not being a "real diesel" and all this stuff.
I realize the cummins is a good engine, but still, no need for that. Dodge trucks leave a bit to be desired too.
That is their way of justifying their purchase of the dodge truck. Try to intemidate you to buy one. Thats why I don't go to them anymore. I tried to get help for my brothers 02 cummins. Once they new I own a PSD, that stuff started. Not all but quite a few.
Think about it, everyone has their own preference. Their allegience is with what they own, as your is with what you own....simple as that.
One isn't really any better then the other, it's all about preference, past experience and features you like.
There is an *** for every seat, so enjoy the ride and your truck
I went to a used car dealership over the weekend to look at some Dodge I found, even the guy selling it was like that "Those ford diesels are just converted gas engines, you'll have to replace the injectors, blah blah"
Which I thought funny since the Dodge he wouldn't take less than $12,700 for ('98) needed a new door and ball joints, tie rods, and track bar, along with a bunch of other little problems.
My purchasing decission for my PSD was based on two factors: 1) I'm 6'2" and felt like I was driving a raised mini-van on the Dodge and 2) the duramax I test drove left me, mywife and the sales man stranded during the test drive.
If your going to drive your truck on daily commute or tow anything and actual off roading the PSD is significantly the better choice IMO.
