Hubcentric vc lugcentric

Hubcentric vc lugcentric

Anyone have any strong opinions btwn the two. I have a 99 SD and am looking a centerline wheels, which are lugcentric

Basically, do you want the weight of the truck carried on the hub or studs. The Ford OEM wheels are hub centric.

My .02 is to stay with hub centric if you are planning on carrying any kind of weight. The OEM wheels are hub centric for a reason.

Is there an 17x9 aftermarket wheel out there that is hubcentric?

Most aftermarket wheels out there are not hubcentric to keep tooling costs down, but then they usually don't don't have the weight rating of an OEM anyway. Most wheel companies are aware of their marketplace - bigger wheel=bigger tire=probable lift kit. A lift is going to compromise the GVWR anyway, so they don't get too worried about the wheel doing the compromising. Most lifted and custom-wheeled trucks do not do much heavy load carrying. I did say most, right?

I put lug centric wheels on my superduty and i ahevnt noticed any problems yet. Ford used lug centric wheels on f250s and f350's for years with no problem. GM and Dodge stil use lug centric as well with no problems. If you may notice that Ford went back to lug centric on the 04 f150.
