I have an intake that has D5TE9425MB on it. If anyone can give me any info on this it would greatly be appreciated. The intake is on a 105 mirrored block with a 3.98 stroke that has D2TEAA heads. 428?
well the intake is a 1975 designed pickup piece, heads are pickup heads, are you sure the stroke is 4" or does it just sit deep in the bore? maybe you got a engine that someone already stroked...
Ya I checked that stroke 3 or 4 times. It comes up to 4" every time. What kind of ponies can I pull out of this setup with a little mod. I thought of cj porting the heads and a good cam (any opinions?) But do I need a different intake? Or can I get plenty of power out of this one? Come on folks give me some Ideas!!!!
I just posted a question there that you answered here. I have a S intake on a 360 engine and a 2b T on my new 390

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
Ya that intake looks identical to mine. Is this a rare ancor or pretty common? I'm kinda new to all this but learning fast! Keep educating me and I'll keep learning. Heck one day might even graduate:-X12
Thanks all!
I just saw an offenhauser aluminum intake for a 390 on ebay with a buy price of 150. question is whether buying an al intake is going to make much difference from my stock cast iron intake with 9:1 compression? Thanks. Billy
D5TE intakes aren't particularly common. That doesn't make them valuable, however. In excellent condition (clean, all holes and tabes in good shape) they might bring $25-40 tops. They were optional on 390 engines in light trucks from 75-76.
That Offy intake is not a good buy for a truck. In general, swapping intakes won't do much for an otherwise stock motor. If you're building a new engine from the ground up, you might want to consider an aftermarket intake, but otherwise don't waste your money. Put it where it will make a difference, like electronic ignition, dual exhaust, etc.
