I have a 2001 ford f250 originnally equiped with the esof. years ago the hubs were replaced with warn maual locking hubs. lately they have been locked (actually turned from free to locked on the hub)in when I know I did not lock them in. I am the only one who drives this truck. Any one ever seen these hubs turn themselves to lock like this? I am starting to think Iam going crazy, Aaron.
Never heard of that - the ***** themselves are really turned to lock?
Got any kids in your area?
Warns come with a lifetime warranty - contact them through their website (very quick response within 24 hours) or give them a call... There is a spring in there that if it got weak might cause the **** to get loose enough to move on it's own - but I seriously doubt it...
I would tend to think someone is turning them to locked when the truck is left unattended. I actually have a habit of checking mine practically every time before I get into the truck just for that reason. If you find a cause other than tampering that would be interesting to know.
must have some pranksters.. they are not that EASY to turn to begin with let alone locking themselves in. unlock them again and spear a small ammount of greese on the part your fingers woul dtouch to turn them in.. then wait and see if they turn in again and see if the greese is speared like fingers been turning them.. i think if you are on that ambien sleeping aid drug you could be waking up and turning them in yourself in the middle of the night and not knowning it

I agree that they should not be turning themselves but the truck sits in a garage and is never left unattened at the same location regularly to where it could be pranksters, BUt I just cabt believe they turn themselves!
I agree they shouldn't turn themselves, I would say some one is doing it. You could just have bad luck find the right places that people like to play with your truck.
Hate to revive an old thread, but has anyone happened to find an answer for this? Having the same problem. I know it isn’t someone doing it, my hub was locked in noticed a grinding, stopped and unlocked it after I found it, then started driving again and it locked in again.

Is the **** actually moving to the locked position?

You have a problem somewhere, even with the hubs locked it shouldn't be grinding.
