I have a 2003 SD PSD with S&B intake, MBRP exhaust and Edge juice. I am having trouble with it reving up at the end of the day. I live in South/West Arizona ( Yuma to be exact). I usually leave for work at about 4:30 or 5 am. It is usually about 85 or 90 Degrees when I start the truck in the morning and I have no probs at all and it runs fine. I drive it about 3 miles to work and park it untill I leave at about 2 or 3 in the afternoon. When I leave work the average temp is between 105 and 115 Deg, sometimes a little higher. When the truck first starts up it doesn't want to go anywhere. If I leave it in Nuetral it will rev up but once I drop it into drive it won't do anything for about 5 or 10 seconds and then suddenly the boost will build and it will take off. I haven't experienced this untill this summer but suspect the high heat may just be a coincidence. It has been happening every day for the past 2 weeks and as I said before it runs like a champ on start up every morning. I don't have a turbo timer but never shut the truck off before the egt's drop below 325 so I don't think the turbo is at fault. I thought maybe someone out there has experienced a similar prob.
The Edge is an Inline module, not a flash programmer. It's a bit of a pain, but unplug the Edge and see if it still does it. This will at least allow you to see if the Edge hasgone bad or corrupted.
i have to agree with these guys, the summer heat makes your engine compartment a place that edge electronics DO NOT LIKE TO BE> i can tell you this from experience.
take that piece of turd edge off completely and you'll be amazed at how SMOOTH the truck runs. yes it will be a LOT slower, but it will run SMOOTH< and run right. now go get an SCT, it will still run smooth, but now will be fast as well as safe.
seriously. unhook the edge and drive it to work tomorrow. i'll bet it solves your problem.
Thanks for all the good advise guys. I am suprised to see all the Edge haters out there though. I have had really good luck with it, had it installed for 1 1/2 years now with no probs. I will unhook tommorow and let you all know what happens.
