Well i lost a great friend on labor day. My flight instructor Dave Burdine died doing what he loved best. . . flying. So yesterday comes and I'm heading out to his service. On the way there truck dies. Come to a stop in the median of a very busy road. My chip is not lit up. . . so I thought it came unplugged. Thats not it. The fuse for the PCM relay blew. Hmm wierd i wonder why that happened. Robbed a fuse from my wipers and good to go. So continuing and going to be cutting it close to being there on time. . . I start to smell oil burning. I got a little smoke coming up through my busted shifter boot. I'm watching oil pressure but still kinda hauling *** because i don't want to be late. So I get there and make a uturn in the parkinglot and park. Some guy is looking at me funny. I get out. . . notice a slight haze in the parking lot. . . .look under the truck to find oil pouring, and I mean pouring out of the engine compartment. I open the hood to see everything including the very hot turbine housing covered in oil Damn. I go to the service and let her cool down. Service was good, they had a 3 ship missing man formation that brought chills to my skin. Well thinking I had a lose hose somewhere, I stopped at ace and got some mineral spirits and a spray bottle and some oil. I get there, and find that there is a hole in my aftermarket high pressure oil line. Crap. As some of you know I went back to single turbo temporarily and luckily, i still have the factory oil line and it would only fit inthe single turbo setup. Long story-already too long-short I went home, got the line and put it on. . . . and drove it home. So. . . that was a wierd day!

Hey Tim, Sorry for your loss. Sounds like he was a good friend too yah.. Yeah sounds like a crazy day too. HAH HAH. Well yah made it home though. Take Care.Country
Man that is horrible. Thats like adding insult to injury on your part. First a funeral service and then problems with your truck, none the less the vehicle you use to get to the service. Sorry for your loss brother.
yeah it was a little crazy. i just imagined my instructor in the seat next to me with his head down shaking his head smiling. And that brought a smile to my face. But as crazy as it was, i was just happy that i didn't miss anything, and I got her home safe. And that there was no fire
