If you poke around the 7.3 forum you'll find many posts on the DP tuner. When I save enough money it's going in my truck. If your dad calls Jody over at DP I'm sure that he won't be dissapointed.
Cheap mods for better milage: have a featherlight foot, on the highway keep it under 65 or at 55 if you dare, keep the 7.3 below 2000rpm on the highway and it will be WAY less thirsty.
