Gear rollover noise
I'm getting what I have read here and other places is gear rollover noise from my 6 speed. Use to just do it if I left it in second and did a rolling stop. Now I'm getting it when I start out in first from a full stop. Not sure if this is indicative of a worsening condition or not. Noise usually lasts for two to three seconds. Depends on how fast I accelerate. Faster acceleration = shorter duration. Tranny fluid hasn't been changed for some time. I have a Luk clutch that's been in for approx 70k. These 6 speeds have auto tranny fluid in em, wonder what putting in standard gear lube would do to it? I remember reading a post from someone who did that. Anyone come across a solution for the noise? Or a fix (other than a dual mass flywheel)?

Don't use gear lube...it's way too think and it shifts much better with ATF.
On that subject, use a good synthetic ATF to quiet it some, but it's always going to do it when you lug it.
The flywheel has nothing to do with it, the ZF-5 trucks with a DMF have the exact same noise.
