heater problems

recently my heater has been leaking lots of hot air through the dash vents, even though all the controls are shut off. man, it's summer time in tucson, i've got to fix this. lol there has got to be a valve somewhere to stop the flow of water to the core, but i don't know where it is or how to check it. any advice? oh, it's an '86 ranger 2.3 thanks

Look for "Blend Door Fix" in the Tech info thread located atop this forums thread listing page.

thanks pawpaw.......i'll take a look for future ref.. it's so long, about like reading a whole law book to find one loophole. your not gonna beleive this, from where i sit behind the wheel if i look down at the climate controls, the selector switch on the bottom left selects a/c or heat and the little **** blocks the view of "vent". pushed it over to a/c and the flow of hot tucson air stopped. man, do i need to spend a little time w/ the brain h2!
