Steering

My 78 F100 wanders all over the road. Everything is fairly new and the parts seem okay. Are there any mods or adjustments to the steering box that may help or maybe a stabilizer?

well, ur first problem is buying an old ford. just about every old ford i have ever seen or drove has had that same problem. u can go through and rebuild it, but it will still want to wander. a dual stabilizer will help some, but not enough.

Thanks, but if it means driving anything other than a Ford, you will have to see me wandering all over the road. I might try the stabilizers.

Good, please stay with fords, im just saying that up to about '79, the steering had a few bugs and was just a little loose. after words, that problem was addressed and taken care of in the early 80's. i dont blame u for wanting to stay with ur truck. i know how u feel.

The F150 and 250 steering gear boxes are no where near the same. Stick with the correct box. How is your alignment?

My 76 drives straight as an arrow at any speed even when I let go of the steering wheel iit stays straight. Other than new heavy duty shocks the only thing I did was new king pins and bushings.

Steering radius problem

Have same problem. My F-100 goes left/right and after lifted 6" hight the raidus steering was reduced. How to increase the radius and correct the left/right movement while riding after installing new ball joints?
Thanks
