1bigsteve, It's been awhile since you were on here.

You still keep in touch with Dave Draper, and pumping iron?

Yea, it has been awhile. I missed you guys. It feels like coming home.

I stay in touch with Dave and Laree. Dave had open heart surgery last February to fix a problem that runs in his family. Dave hosted a get-together awhile back for a bunch of us muscle heads. He talked about his bodybuilding carreer and showed an old beach movie he did with Sharon Tate. I wasn't able to attend myself but seeing her on the screen seems a bit strange so many years after her death. She was in another film with an actress friend of mine who is also dead. The four of us form a perfect circle in an odd sort of way. I found myself gaining a few pounds of "relaxed muscle" so I had to cut back on my net time. I still pump the iron and probably will till the day I die. Still eating raw vegies for my 5:00AM breakfast and bombing to Georgia Brown's voice. Hey, I know what's good!

Have you been staying out of trouble since I left? What have you been up to?

Welcome back.

Good to hear you're still pumping iron.
I haven't gained any weight; just haven't lost any either.
Must be the peanut butter sandwiches.

I'm on Dave Draper's weekly news letter/email.

I eat my veggies; but they're on a pizza.
Maybe another reason why the weight issues.

Just been working here and there.

Basically SOS.

You still in the S.C. Mtn. area?

Thanks. It feels good to be back in the swing of things. Yes I still live in the area. Pizza does have a way of putting the pounds on. The crust and oil is high in calories and the cheese constipates a lot of people. Peanut butter, unfortunately, is also high in calories. A good rule of thumb is to remember that there are about twice as many calories per gram of fat and oil as there are in a gram of complex carbs and protein. Vegies are very low in calories while high-fat, high-sugar junk food is loaded with it. Any fat or oil that hardens at room temp will plug up your heart and that is the type of fat junk food is made of and cooked in. Contrary to what we have heard in the last few years about fat, high fat diets do put the pounds on because they contain so many calories. Loading up on vegies gives me a feeling that I'm full, which I am, and leaves me with no desire to grab some high-calorie junk food.

On second thought, I think I'll have some peanut butter...

The next time you go to Round Table check out the photo of the "bread twists" on their menu and tell me what you think they look like. I love their salads.
