my 2003 6.0 with 45k on it .is going to be out of warrenty soon . i was thinking about a extentend warrenty . has any of you done this ? dont know if i should call the dealer ? thanks for your info...
If you get an extended warranty, only buy the Ford ESP if you still qualify for it. From what I gather, all the other aftermarket warranties are mostly junk and you still end up paying for parts and repairs due to technicalalities in the warranty.
Also, there are a couple of vendors on this site that can sell you the ESP for less than what the dealer typically sells them.
I am intersted in knowing this too. Done some research but none of the dealers here i n town will give me a call back. Ford said I did not qualify to purchase from the directly but there are dealers out there that will pickup the ESP plan on Fords behalf.
Question, the engine is has the 5/100,00 mile warranty through Ford. But what does that cover? The long block, shoty block, turbo? What?
warrantydirect.com is one of them that I am looking at now. 2800 seems kinda pricey though even for a 0 deduct. The reason why I didnt pickup the warranty at the dalers was I did not want to roll that cost in the note.
Ford is offering a 7/200,000 (engine only) on the 7.3, 6.0, and 6.4 if you purchase it while still under factory warranty. I remember it being like $1900 and change. The only thing it doesn't cover is a non factory installed turbo. (meaning if you had a turbo replacement at the dealer its not covered) You have to be in the 5/100,000 to purchase it. They have another one that is covers a few more components, which also costs a little more, but you have to be in the 3/36,000 to get it.
