Just picked up my '07 E350. It has the flat 4 pin , but I need to put a 7 pin in. Anyone know where that harness is? On my '03 it was behind the drivers seat belt molding. Not there anymore.
Mine was located under the dash, just above the parking brake. I have the towing package which included the 7 pin, but that is where I plugged in my brake controler.
Most trucks don't come with the 7 pin wiring harness unless its already installed. Usually you have to go out and purchase it. They all come with the trailer brake control harness, usually in the glove compartment. Which one are you talking about? It looks like dzwiss is talking about the brake controller, but you (the op) seem to mean the actual plug next to the bumper?

You are correct. On my old van the harness and conector with a pig tail was behind the drivers side on the wall. All I did is add the relay for the trailer battery charge and extend the wires.
Might find out quicker by stopping by a Ford dealer and asking...then they can show you....or lead you to the parts department to purchase what you need.
I know the F series trucks don't come with the 7 pin harness unless its installed. If you have a F series truck without the tow package you have to either purchase the adapter from Ford for a huge premium or go to Uhaul. Do the E series trucks normally come with the adapter?
Everything is there but the harness to the rear and the relay and fuse.
As far as asking the dealer, they are absolutely useless. Nobody knows anything or they won't take the time to find out.
I'm not sure if it si the same on the vans though. Follow the wires from your 4 way plug and see if you can find a plug like the grey one. On the trucks it is right back by the spare tire under the bed.
Now that I am the owner of a service DVD for every '06-'07 Ford , I was finally able to locate the missing connector. Under the hood drivers side firewall. For future ref. the female connector part# is 14A411
