Well, that is WHY I dislike the Bilsteins. I usually like a stiff riding vehicle, but once I installed the Bilsteins, it has become too stiff. I now feel every little bump in the road, no matter how small (I could drive over a dime and tell you the year it was minted). I had no issues at all during the 40K miles I had the Ranchos on my '01 X. I'll be switching back to Ranchos at the next shock change, or earlier if I get too tired of these Bilsteins.
I had the adjustable Ranchos. When I installed them, I set them at their medium setting, and never touched them again. I may try a set of non-adjustable Ranchos next time.
I was favoring the Ranchos also because they were adjustable and I could tuned in my comfort. But the price tag on the bilsteins are attractive also but if the Ranchos are that good I'll over look the price tag. Thanks for your input!
I love my adjustable Rancho's..My wife likes the ride at 1 (softest). Once I drove her around on the maximum setting and she said she would need a sports bra the next time!!! Likey Likey!!!!

LOL.
You guys that voted for Bilsteins have you ever tried Ranchos?
have you considered EDELBROCK. they're on my 00. bought it like that...the ride is normal couldn't tell u any differences, but it's something to consider
Bilsteins seemed to be the concesus when I was looking around here in the spring. I changed all 4 to the set recommended at eshocks.com. I'm not sure of the model number. Personally, they seem way too soft to me. At 95k miles, my factory shocks were completely shot. The Bilsteins were a big improvement, but now at 100k miles, after changing shocks, ball joints, sway bar bushings, & radius arm bushings the truck still feels to top heavy and It doesn't tow like it should. If I push down on the front bumper, I get about 4 good bounces out of it.

So you love your Bilsteins?
I'm really leaning towards the Ranchos.... The adjustable is what is making my decision but if someone that experienced both rides for awhilel and can honestly say that bilsteins are better than the Ranchos I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
