Finally pulled the engine from my 57 F100. VIN is F10K7D19510. Thought I had a 272 in it. The block casting is 02AE 6015C, with 01AE 6090C heads.
After a search in the archives, I found that it may be a 1962 292.
Anyone have any data for what it actually is?
Thanks in advance for any info you have. I have learned quite a bit from this forum, you all are a great resource.
That would be C2AE for the block and C1AE for the heads. It is easy when looking at the number to mistake the C for a O. 62-64 292 and 61 heads. Referring to this site http://www.ford-y-block.com/cylinderheadchart.htm
you see the heads have a nice 72 cc combustion chamber, and small intake valves. Dont believe the stated CR though. Yours is more likely 8:1, but still better than many.
C2AE block is known to be the or one of the strongest blocks produced for the Y.
