power steering pump?

power steering pump?

Hello having some problems,the other day I changed my serp belt because the old one was wearing on one side for some reason, now it is making this noise that is driving me CRAZY! sounds like a bearing, so I took the belt off and checked all the idler wheels alt,water pump,vac pump,air cond,but noticed that I could pull the pulley and shaft back and fourth about an inch?on the power steering pump is this normal seems to me that this would be the problem, has anyone els had this problem before? thanks!

its normal the PS pump to move back and forth some but cetainly not an inch. I would say its junk if you can really move it an inch!

thanks tj all this kinda stuff on my truck is stock never been changed, It is a 96 and about time for things to start to go It,s nice to get more than one opinion on stuff like this so a guy doesn,t go broke finding the problem .

Hello just to let you know I changed my power steering pump and the noise I was talking about went away never had that happen before? anyway thanks again.
