Is my tranny toast

I have a 1994 f-350 460 2wd dually with an e40d that was replaces approximately 30000 miles ago. Tonight while getting ready to pass a vehicle I stepped down on it and it did not shift in to passing gear like it should have. Now when I stop I have to shut the od button off for it to go. If I leave it in OD it will just rev. I can be cruising at 55 and push the od button and it will shift into od just fine.
This tranny is a jxxpxr rebuild and I can't believe it. Should I change the filter and fluid or is it too late. Or is it something else gone wrong? thanks

you shouldnt have the od engaged under 50mph anyways, just causes heat build up, it should kick out of od if you step on it though 1/2-3/4 throttle and it should shift down to 3rd, i dont think changing the filter and fluid would hurt anything, you will be able to look for shavings while you have the fluid drained out anyways and cut the filter open

I think the problem is my overdrive 1 way clutch has gone and went. Now the question is what do I do about it. Can I drive it and not hurt anything more. Or will driving it really mess is up? What to do?
