You will lose your vacuum and your A/C or heat will default to the defrost position.

I would disconnect and plug the vacuum line to the front hubs just to prevent any vacuum leaks. Your auto hubs may be giving you problems because of leaks.

Vacuum is used to actuate the ventilation and AC doors so you need a leak-free system for them to work properly.

Yes, installation will be the same for a Warn hub.

ok,so i just started doing this today.in my box came 2 rings with
2 small holes in them,i think they are the outboard retaining ring? do i
need to use these? i have a 2000 superduty.
also is it normal to have to spin the tire a little bit in reverse to unlock it while
it's of the ground?

You need to plug the vacuum so that all your heat and a/c functions properly....otherwise it will only blow out of the defrost.

As for install:

Yes, the wheels do need to spin a tad at times to engage or disengage the hubs.

If you are talking about the snap ring, about the diameter of the hub itself, that is what holds the hub body in. The manual hubs have a body, and a dial face. You put the body in the hub housing, and over the axle end. Install the snap ring to retain the body, and bolt the cover/**** on the outside.

sorry, missed the second post.

The small snap rings are replacment stub axle retainers for some applications I suppose. You shouldn't need them.

Probably is ok to have to spin the tire. Takes the load off the hub so it unlocks.
