fuel filter drain

2000 F-350 7.3 powerstroke 6 speed. My fuel filter drain is leaking again. last time bought new valve from Ford. this time want to just change the o-rings and save some money. can anyone tell me where i can get just the o-rings that are the right o-ring to put back in. thanks

now could you tell me if i need nitrile or viton very rarely gets below zero around here. is one stronger than the other.thanks

I would say Viton as it is rated for diesel fuel applications.

If your trying to get it right away to fix your rigg, I would go to your local Ford Dealer. They should have just the seal kits in stock. It's a common repair for our trucks. Or an International/Harvester Dealer. Country

How long since you replaced it? If has been recent, you may just need to tighten it up a bit. Or worse case, you may have cracked the plastic valve housing. While these things do tend to leak, they do last for a quite a long time in most cases.

The dealer doesnt sell orings, they have made me try and purchase the whole thing and I went to the link above.

mcmaster-carr is where i got mine. viton brand is what they are. i think i paid like $5 for a bag of 25.

I ordered some off of ebay. they were $3.00 a set. thought this was a pretty good price but now I will order a bag from mcmaster carr and probably have good supply for all my friends. now I just hope my ebay ones get here soon. I also will be waiting on a part # to order a bag.
