How come some of the tail lights I see for the 63 F100 are round? Mine for instance, are round, but I have seen other 63's (most of them) that have the more oblong shape. Just curious
You should have the older type of bed, like the 57-60, that have the round tail lights. The ones with the oblong lights are uni's or the owners have put on a newer stile bed, 65-66.

I see. So until 1965, round tail lights were stock, unless it was a uni?
Yes, Ford use the old beds on the non uni's until 64 and on some of the F250 4x4's in 65-66. Check out the galleries on your year of truck and you will see the same type of beds.

i don't understand why ford didn't just design the bed they made in 64 in 61 the bed that was actually designed for slicks look so much better on them.
They probably kept it in use to keep engineering costs down a bit, but nowadays I think its to give the 57-60 truck owners a larger pool of options for their beds.
My best friend had a 64 4X4....beat to heck over the years but boy I rememeber going into the woods and bringing darn near the whole forest back on it...ahhhh memories....sure would love to find that truck...
